It's cute that he thinks Mar-a-Lago more valuable than any other property in Palm Beach.

You have intimate knowledge of Mara Lago, Right?

I know how old it is and how it appears in photos (aging country club).

Unless Trump is keeping something from the judge (and lenders) that would make it more valuable than has been determined and assessed, I'll stand behind my remark.

I would also wager that given the choice of being gifted Mar-a-Lago or the Palm Beach Country Club, everyone that isn't in the transaction to peddle influence would take the Palm Beach Country Club every time.

The thing that stands out for me was Trump's sworn testimony that his properties are worth whatever he wants them to be because he can have the Saudis pay whatever he wants them to pay. That should make us all want to dig in to his relationship with the Saudis, and as noted by the judge this sounds more like influence buying than savvy investing.

I do not normally link to RedState because most commenters here view it as right-wing propaganda. But I did spend almost an hour today researching this subject. It seems the only thing devaluing Mar-a-Lago to about $400,000,000 today is a deed restriction limiting it to use as a club. It might be worth a lot more to a billionaire with foresight.

So you think the tax valuation is the value you would sell it for.

A piece of property is worth as much as the owner feels it is worth.

And yet he claimed the 2020 valuation of $26mil in 2020 was too high so he could pay less in taxes.

So which is it: less than $26mil, $300 mil, or this week's claim of $1.8bil?

I love that Trump cheating on property taxes came back to bite him in this much bigger case.

Maybe Karma is real?
