From what I can tell, the jet in the Reagan library is still owned by the USAF, and is on loan as a permanent (non-functional) museum piece, so I would expect the USAF to hold the ultimate title Trump's White Elephant.

I'm not sure who on #TeamTrump thought that this would be a good idea to announce, but when you lose Laura Loomer...

Can’t find a counterpoint to this. Sort of dumb to accept it. Why not just fly in the back seat of an F-18F or F-15E and just get there faster. Staff and press can ride the VC-25.

I don't believe we should accept such expensive material gifts from any foreign governments except really close allies. I simply do not trust them. Cash equivalent would be welcome.

I can understand the frustration with Boeing, but the delays have most likely been caused by the executive branch - Trump's and Biden's. It's probably like trying to build a nuclear power plant. Every governmental or special interest whim has to be incorporated regardless of safety significance and certainly with no regard to cost or schedule.

This is one of those cases where I wish we kept another large American aircraft manufacturer around.

I'm aware that McDonnell Douglas had its issues, but it would be good to have another big plane maker around to hold the others' feet to the fire, and serve as a decent talent development pool for commercial aviation engineers.

The billions we would have to spend to make sure this is not a trojan horse seems a bit more than ridiculous. Aren’t we supposed to be cutting costs? This is not a Statue of Liberty, a gift from another country, approved by congress and available for all to view and actually feel is “ours”. I want to know what Qatar got from Turkey in exchange for a similar gift to Erdogan.
