I'm all for providing more anti-air and anti-tank defense systems to Ukraine under a lend-lease type program. We spent the Cold War avoiding direct war with the USSR/Russia, for important reasons - and we need to remember those when we talk about "doing something" to help Ukraine.

For example, I highly recommend a number of this Tweeter's threads regarding sanctions like this: https://twitter.com/kamilkazani/status/1501676859741904898

I guess Ukraine will just be the next in a long line of countries who have learned the hard way that America is not to be trusted. We are so pathetic. They should have never given up their nukes and if we let Putin destroy them while we sit back and watch we will be responsible for yet another mass murder.

All i know if i was watching this is, get nukes asap. Until you have them you are just land for someone else to grab.

No it is not America duty to help Ukraine what a farce. America and Americans responsibility is first to Americans and America. We have thousand suffering from health, fiancés, jobs, marriage all because of this disastrous Biden/Harris economy and we are sending billions more to Ukraine. No logic behind helping Ukraine. NONE!!!

I felt betrayed - reading the by-line by Elie, whose books I've read and own - to the article's propaganistic support for America continuing as a war machine. I'm sure Elie would clearly see through this thinly veiled racism as being "for white people" called "people like us", let alone how the article completely ignores the underlying "real" reasons for the various wars it mentions relating to corporate power, oil, and money, which it's true, America likes to call "saving democracy". Elie, if he was alive, would be as horrified as me at this fawning praise and defense of US brutality in the world.
