An open letter to my congressman
On the subject of objecting to the Electoral College and undermining elections
Dear Sir:
I would like to register my strong disapproval with Republican plans to object to the Electoral College vote on Jan. 6. As I am sure you know, there is no evidence of systemic election irregularities that would have affected the outcome of the election. This is true both in Georgia and other states.
When I first contacted your office a few years ago, your staffers told me that you are a Reagan conservative, as am I. Now is the time to prove that by standing up for truth and the rule of law.
I was very disappointed in your decision to join the Texas lawsuit. I hope that you will rectify that mistake by doing the right thing on Jan. 6 and affirming Joe Biden as the president-elect.
I consider myself an independent former Republican due to my differences with the party’s direction since 2016. I can tell you that despite my agreement with many aspects of the Republican platform, I will not now or ever support any Republican who votes to overturn the election and undermine the will of the voters.
I take the matter of eroding public faith in elections very seriously and hope that you will as well. Please do the right thing for America and the Constitution by not joining with this attack on the election.
Just wondering how many apples does it take for the whole bunch to be ruined for republicans.
