There is a degree of urgency to rounding up illegals. In addition to their violent criminality there are also tens of thousands of minor illegals who disappeared into human trafficking channels. They were put into harm's way by the policies of the cabal that controlled the previous administration.
The situation will continue to deteriorate if the true lawbreakers, anarchists and insurrectionists are not brought under control. If it becomes necessary to bring in serious federal protective forces, they will be building detention centers for sanctuary locale citizens who do not believe federal laws apply to them. Federal laws apply in those locations as much as they did at Fort Sumter.
It would be so easy to avoid all the turmoil if state and local government simply held illegals when they are encountered and advise ICE when and where to take them into custody in accordance with federal laws.
