The debate sealed his fate, this was just one more nail. I actually want Biden to hang in there till at least through the republican convention. It will split trumps hatred between Joe and Kamala. Then there's the summer Olympics and before you know it the democratic convention. He he could refuse the nomination, pass the torch and control the narrative with the speech of a lifetime.
But alas, let me answer your question with and even more stark question of my own: I can’t imagine a worse torture for donald j trump than having his ass handed to him by a Black 50 year old Female. Can you?
He honestly doesn’t care who he loses to. Having his own glory “robbed” by anyone, any color, any gender, is torture to him. Maybe stretch out the whole Biden thing all summer, or—as Ezra Klein suggested on Twitter—drop out right before the RNC would be the cruelest thing Biden could do to Trump.
I thought it was generic hyperbole for the Dems to suggest that the Orange was a threat to democracy. I’m more inclined to believe it now since the SCOTUS immunity decision and project 2025. But if the Dems truly felt that way all along….they thought Joe was the best option for holding this threat to democracy at the gate? That now seems like a very unserious way to tackle what they themselves perceived to be an existential problem.
When the guy is flubbing lines even when the questions are vetted…that is not an improvement.
He was 1 inch deep, maybe less. Very little substance, even during prepared remarks. A campaign speech, mini style. Biden avoided most questions with hand waving language. He didn’t get specific. “Anyway…”
Lordy what a gift to the #MAGA movement.
What is it about old Democrats refusing to see when it's time to go home and spend time with their family and dogs?
That could be more widely asked of old politicians in general, like Chuck Grassley being re-elected for a 6 year term at 90 years old.

He's always flubbed when talking publicly: Bidenisms have been a thing for decades.
What'd you think of his actual command of the issues, the actual substance?

That's the format with press conferences.
Interesting perspective though, considering the answers I watched regarding industrial policy and China.
