Like you I do not like my thoughts on political and social topics funneled through a yard sign slogan. Do believe the legal system leans to power and race. Do believe too many questionable police lethal death occurrences in minority communities. Rally points like “Back the Badge” and “Black Lives Matter” tow too much other political baggage that I do not necessarily support. But I am trying to listen.
I've tried to point out since its inception that there was always an implicit ", too" at the end of "Black Lives Matter". I really don't know why so many too offense at the statement: did they think it meant *only* Black lives matter?
Sadly I have come to think more cynically on this. I’m realizing as I get older just how people isolate themselves in bubbles, and they use dismissive and harsh rhetoric to excuse their safety bubbles. Even those who claim everyone else has one. They can’t accept BLM because they’ve been raised to think the idea is anti white, anti conservative. Why can’t we conservatives own these issues? Why can’t we take the lead? We’d expand our base and persuade others to join us if we’d just relax.
