I’ll be writing my representative and 2 Senators and urge them to support reform of the Electoral Count Act. There is a small bipartisan group of Senators and Reps who are willing to get the ball rolling on it. It will be challenging to get enough Reps and Senators to get potential ECA reform legislation passed. I think if the GOP wins control of the House or both houses of Congress in November, the chances of it passing diminishes considerably. So the sooner more pragmatic minded Reps and Senators get the ball rolling on ECA reform, the better.
And congratulations to the Dawgs for their impressive victory. With apologies in advance to Alabama fans, it is always nice when the Crimson Tide are denied. 😉. I was rooting for the Bulldogs and thrilled with their win. Now I get to give some good natured grief to my Alabama supporting friends and say roll tide....rolled!
I'm not a DAWG fan but I do appreciate Coach Smart not putting 100 points on the board against the Yellow Jackets. He could have and UGA has had coaches in the past who would do exactly that. So, I guess I liked the outcome even if my granddaughter is a University of Alabama alumna.
The problem isn't necessarily voting irregularities, but the lack of acceptance of county investigations into those irregularities when those investigations still result in a loss.
Your doubts are unfounded. And please define "extremely close": 'cause very few elections come down to a handful, and those that do are typically in small towns where everybody knows each other.
Overhauling electoral count act is clearly a worthy goal. Difficult to imagine it happening with the current Congress.

Voting irregularities might not be a national crisis, but it could become one if voting margins become much smaller.

If I had real confidence in the voter registration system, I probably would never question the count or the recount in an extremely close election.

Your opinion. I did not say handful. My opinion is that if national defense data systems can be hacked, voter registrations can be manufactured.
You said a few dozen: that's a handful.
You ultimately then cannot trust anything ever: so you're paranoid and can be ignored, because you're not occupying a position of any sort of reason.
A few dozen will usually fit into the parameter of 0.1% or less.
Prevention is the best cure. Trust but verify.
