If I go to a Burger King, it is for beef, and not chicken. I've never really been impressed with their chicken sandwiches, with all their iterations. It'll be interesting to try the Ch'King and see how it compares to the others, including Chick-fil-As. I'll make sure and wait until July 1 to try it.
As for Popeyes, I remember that there was a lot of hype about their chicken sandwich a couple years ago. When I tried it, I remember wondering what the hype was all about. It was good, but not to the level at which it was hyped up to be. I still think Chick-fil-A is the gold standard for fast food chicken sandwiches. I also love their waffle fries and their shakes. Give me those plus a spicy chicken sandwich, and I'm a happy camper.
I'm now aware that Burger King has a chicken sandwich, which is something I would have remained blissfully unaware of, had you not chosen to turn it into a mortar in The Culture War.
Are we certain that Susan isn't a double-agent on behalf of Team BK-LGBT+? The only thing we're missing in this post is an affiliate link to purchase the likely mediocre product (just like ALL other chicken sandwiches).
I promise you, if every chicken sandwich-loving bunghole bandit ran after BK's Ch'King sandwich, it would not hurt Chik-Fil-A's bottom line, because they're not really getting that business, anyway. However, because BK decided to get confrontational, they'll lose part of their customer base, and it WILL hurt them. The actual donation they make is paltry and laughable, so I hope it was worth it.
I'm not sure why you think that the goal of this exercise is to do anything to CFA, as opposed to selling more BK chicken sandwiches.
The "bunghole bandits" (fun phrase, though you may want to get that fixation checked out) aren't the point here, it's raising BK's profile as an also-ran in a dubious segment of the greasy food market, so that they sell more chicken sandwiches. Simple as that. I expect the market for the BK sandwiches are not CFA customers, as opposed to the folks who may want to try something different on Thursday, when they're on their lunch break looking for something aside from the Whoppers they've been eating all week, and are too time-constrained/lazy to go somewhere else. (I fall into the lazy camp, and my local McDonalds started offering a similar chicken sandwich, then FAILED TO MARKET IT. I found out about it when one local worker taped the chicken sandwich preparation instructions to the transparent COVID divider for some reason. Tried one and added it to the Overrated Bin, alongside the McRib.)
As for CFA, I'm sure they're also pleased that BK's resident Twitter troll (who likely has dreams of working Wendy's feed) has taken a swipe at them, as this attention war is not a zero-sum exercise. CFA defenders will buy their sandwich, and bored repeat BK customers will have a reason to go there instead of the gas station next door, and I'll be here avoiding them altogether. Meanwhile, the Wendy's Troll will wake up and wonder whether they're stuck in Punxsutawney, PA.[1]
It's absolutely to sell more BK sandwiches. I noted that several times in the body of the post. That being said, they took jabs at CFA that were blatant, when if they had the superior product, it would be unnecessary.
That is true. Any fast food chain would do anything to improve their market share and bottom line. Though, I think BK's move is only going to boost sales at CFA.
You seem determined to be offended on CFA's behalf. Companies take stabs at competitors all the time, not on the basis of who has the "superior" product, but on the basis of segmenting the market and appealing to a particular segment. Apple ran the "I'm a Mac / I'm a PC" ads when having an arguably superior product that they wanted to pitch to the "just want to get stuff done crowd". Intel's now running ads against Apple that focuses on how gaming on Macs are laughable.
BK's pitching their sandwich as available seven days a week, as opposed to just six. Just marketers doing their job and we're falling for it, discussing this in the first place.
(Though this discussion does amuse me, so thank you BK marketing flacks!)
You’re overblowing an ad campaign. And since chik fil a eschews serving LGBTQs, someone else is filling that spot in the market. Boycotts don’t work. Not against a fast food company and not the boycott of that fast food company against a group of people they hate. Oh, and it’s just a piece of chicken on a bun. It’s not special. The one I make at home is a thousand times better.
This is the thing... Chik-Fil-A doesnt discriminate, as far as who they'll serve. They never have. They simply have a set of beliefs they hold. In fact, in 2012, when the LGBTQ community was protesting, it was August. It was HOT. As they stood in the parking lots of Chik-Fil-As around the country, employees of Chik-Fil-A brought cups of ice water out to them. They honored their right to protest, and extended kindness, to boot!
So chik fil a supports everyone’s right to freedom of association and everyone’s right to equal protection under the Constitution? I thought you just said they are against same sex marriage? Which is it? And if you want to argue sin, shouldn’t you start with the toxic pornography/sexual addiction log lodged so firmly in your evangelical church’s eye? Or are we saving that one for a never day?
“If you dont think they didnt go after Chik-Fil-A, you didnt read the tweet. They dont have to name them to make their intentions clear.” So you don’t have to name them to be going after them? Chik fil a doesn’t say they won’t serve gays, they just let it be known they are unwelcome. And Burger King is letting them know they are welcome. Like I said before, it’s just an campaign. Like the current Wendy’s campaign targeting McDonalds. And I don’t buy the faith argument. Evangelicals whitewash their own plague of heterosexual sins, while decrying what they see as homosexual sin. So I guess my assessment is correct. You’re saving addressing the log in your own eye for a never day.
Pornography/sexual addiction would be so far down the list. Try racism, sexual predation, child molestation, witness shaming, idol worshipping, and pure unadulterated hate. But don't you dare be gay or support gay people and make chicken sandwiches.
C’mon. You’re projecting things that tempt people equally (gay, straight, religious, non-believers) onto Christians but giving LGBT people who have the same human failings a pass. You’re better than that.
It wasn't a LGBT person who got enraged and insulted and ridiculed a whole group of people(sodomy set) because someone dared to advertise chicken sandwiches to them.
Kids are getting molested but you better not come for her chicken sandwiches.
Have you read ANY of the angry hit pieces written by LGBT writers against Chick-fil-A in the last 5 years? Susan was a teddy bear compared to those. Seriously you’ve lost your perspective.
Actually, Chik-Fil-A IS just doing fast food. They're not challenging anyone. That anyone even knows that they hold Christian beliefs about marriage is because someone asked their CEO in an interview and he told them. As for your leaving Christianity, I'm pretty sure you were never truly in it, to begin with.

Superior product and greasy fast food…good luck. As Chris said, I’ll be avoiding it all.
Well said.

They're for traditional marriage. For them, it's not an issue of politics, but of faith. Why do you have a problem understanding the difference?

Not true at all. Chick-fil-A never made it a policy or practice for LGBT people to be unwelcome in their restaurants.
You’re the one who says you don’t have to specify something for it to be so…

More christian irony that proves me right leaving that religion of hate and stupidity.
sodomy set
telling bk to just do fast food while praising Chik for not being just fast food.
Anger and hate at something so stupid as a chicken company taking party in pride month
Yeah I think I made the right choice.

Nough Said.
