Today is Easter Sunday for most Christians. I know Christians from places like Ethiopia who celebrate it next Sunday. That’s fine. Easter is Resurrection Day, and it occurred on a day when Passover began on what we call Thursday, with Jesus and the Disciples having a Seder, and on Friday, before sundown, Jesus was crucified. He rose on a Sunday, so any Sunday around Passover, by the current solar calendar, is going to be as good as another.
But it’s not a day for politics, for Christians, and honestly, for non-Christians who have in their heart some respect for others. If a Jewish guy who owns a cigar store* wants to defend a Texas billionaire for various interpretations of historical art, then that’s their thing.
Today, we should respect the lives of others, for we are all here for a short time. That goes for me, too. Respect and love even if we disagree.
*Here’s the tweet in question. For the record, for the years I’ve read Jonah’s writing, I trust his judgment of character and believe him. But still. Let’s chill. Y’all can have the head of a SCOTUS Justice on a platter tomorrow. The world will wait.

Spent the morning doing some spring chores and cleanup around the community followed by a trip to the cinema to catch Super Mario Bros. Has been a pretty chill day.
