Thanks for getting my Tuesday off on the wrong foot. ;-)

All we hear about is Herschel, Herschel, Herschel. There are 3 additional Republican candidates for the GA senate seat, Kelvin King, Latham Saddler, and Gary Black, as well as George Litchfield of the Conservative Party, and Chase Oliver of the Libertarian Party. The majority of conservative voters in the state don't even know the names of these other candidates. Herschel has been coronated. I swear, the people of this country are making Idiocracy a documentary.

Thanks. I had never heard of Kelvin King or Latham Saddler. I reviewed their backgrounds and think either would be a good choice. I hope they can build some name recognition before too many votes are cast.

You would think that Georgia Republicans could come up with better Senate candidates. The most well-known, other than Walker, is Gary Black. I would vote for him, but we could do better. The problem is that qualified, successful, prominent individuals are not particularly interested in political office. Politics should not be a career. It attracts the worst kind of grifters who have no problem with lying and cheating to stay in office. Term limits would be good for the USA.

What makes you pinpoint the NE affair story as being so consequential?

Safe to say Cruz post 2016 primaries started down the road to disappointment for me. Nadir achieved post January 6’th. NE story just an arbitrary point in my eyes.

Not completely arbitrary. It was the end of March. Come April Trump was able to clinch barring convention antics. Trump and the GOP used brown shirt tactics at the convention and the last cinder of Cruz’s conscience went poof when he made his “vote your conscience” speech. After that it was all bowing before Zod. In April I believe the headline of the piece I wrote for The Resurgent was “We’re Screwed.”

Was NE before or after Trump made a point of insulting Cruz's wife?

Within a day.

I still despise Trump and everyone who supported him at Cruz' expense (Sean Hannity and co. were egregious).
