I think that DeSantis had a path, but effectively steered into a ditch. He could have run as a classically conservative executive with experience getting concrete things done in Florida, instead of trying to out-sh!tpost the biggest sh!tposter of them all. He wouldn't have captured the Trump base, but it's becoming clear that those folks aren't going anywhere.
I hope all the also-rans get together to figure out a plan for getting one of them into the general election to avoid the shellacking they'll get if the GOP runs Trump again. At this point, DeSantis has probably alienated too many general election voters - let's see if smarter heads prevail and the non-Trump field of candidates coalesce behind a suitable challenger.
Burgun and Scott only candidates with a television ad campaign right now in NH. Retail handshake politics in play as candidates make appearances across the state. Take time for a third Republican to establish a strong third place position leading into the fall.
We will see if Burgun can catch on in NH. His message will be well received by conservatives here, but can he gain enough support to challenge the top two?
Any Republican gaining traction against Trump will be mercilessly attacked and smeared by the left and by major media. I scan through dozens of fake news sites every day, and the story is always the same but more lurid and more questionable than what is found on major media outlets. Every special interest group has at least one of those sites putting a special spin on any report. The right has them also, but they are vastly outnumbered.

Burgum is a worthy candidate.

Probably not, but we can hope. He strikes me as being honest and sincere which I rarely (as in never) say about a politician.
Can win in NH from third place this time around.
Encouraged hearing you being back in the left seat!
