Amen. Personally I can never believe God anointed a constant liar and “retribution” guy to lead anyone. IMO Trump has done more to harm the Gospel message than anyone else in my time here on Earth. No man or woman is perfect. I too am a sinner, saved by Grace. I will not bow to any man, I will not fall victim to the prince of the power of the air. I will never listen to anyone who seeks to gain power by doing the bidding of the father of all lies. I feel adrift in a sea of hopelessness and pray daily for guidance on how to cast my vote.
God probably did not anoint Trump. He did not anoint any democrats either. We have been warned. This is probably my last election cycle for giving a damn for myself. If Kamala or someone worse is elected, I will just hunker down and do the best I can to protect what I and my family currently have.
anointed. It seems, if God is in the anointing leaders business and permits us the freedom to choose, then God is anointing all the candidates for whom we vote, therefore all elected officials are annointed.
Scripture indicates that God is in the anointing believers business. Much less support for God sovereignty anointing leaders. Especially leaders outside the body of Christ.
Donald Trump most certainly was not anointed by God. This is the issue; in 2016, we were left with Trump and Hillary as the choice, and this is because we have sinful people casting votes. Sinners on the democrat side nominated Hillary, and Sinners on the republican side nominated Trump. Sometimes God gives us what we want, or, in the case of Romans 1, gives us over to vileness and reprobation. Now, in this election cycle, because we haven't learned anything from our past, we are faced with the same kind of choice, Trump v. Harris, or someone probably equally distasteful. However, we are not bound to vote for any of these. There are other people running for President, if we would just get our focus on candidates other than the 2 major parties. We should want better for ourselves, but the problem is we have no peripheral vision.
Well, there are 6 other political parties besides the Republicrats and the demoblicans. Perhaps if we did our research on those, we could come up with something better than the choice we have.
Not sure about anointing in the fullest sense you’ve described here. But Trump no doubt got very very lucky in Butler that day….and he and his people will run with that as something close enough as to make no difference, I imagine.
Correct. If someone pops off, their “protection” just ran out….if you subscribe to the whole god business at all. If you believe there’s a “god’s will”….then that would’ve been part and parcel of it.
It was a minor point in your piece, but it’s also why I don’t know how anyone who believes there’s a “god’s will” reconciles that with free will.
Right? I worked in pediatric critical care in a very large hospital where we got the sickest of the sick. I was involved in the care of 2 children age 15 and age 13. Both were from family's of faith. Both prayed and had church members stand around the bed and pray. Both claimed "positive confessions" and were stalwart in their faith their child would be healed. One died and one didn't. It is abhorrent when people make a claim that some lives are protected and others are not.
This one thing is certain and I believe it true of the assasination attempt and death of a good man...bad things happen to good people and good things happen to bad people.

"Where there is no vision, the people perish."
Who, pray tell?

I approve this message.

If God protected Trump, then we can assume he was not protecting the fire chief who lost his life taking Trump’s bullet?
