The big question is who would take Biden's place. Probably the best option is Gavin Newsome but that would be messy.

I'm probably in the minority in thinking that Biden has done a decent job, even as I disagree with a lot of his policy. Any subsitution would likely be a much worse choice for conservatives.

Biden has been the victim of circumstances largely beyond his control such as the invasion of Ukraine and the Hamas war, but he has handled these crises well if not perfectly. The economy is strong and inflation is under control.

A lot of his problem is progressive voters who are turned off because he's too moderate and not supportive enough of Palestine, but he'll never win the GOP voters on the right who think he's too liberal. There's a stategic argument there for Biden to go left since the GOP will paint him as a radical soclalist either way.

I agree that Biden has done well - which I did not expect. I disagree with policies in both parties, and dislike the greed and lack of compassion of Republicans. I fear the worst if trump is in the WH again - Liz Cheney got it right - as a democracy we can survive bad policies, but we may not survive another Trump administration.

We would ALL be curious to hear an off-the-cuff speech from Biden. It would be illuminating, if also likely spelling the end of the end for him.

I never voted for Biden, but will this year. I did vote trump in ‘16. I think Pres Biden has done remarkably well, has good advisors (yeah, so did trump, but they couldn’t stand the corruption and left), and he is more respected abroad by our allies, except possibly Israel, which is off the rails in my opinion. The mass hypnosis regarding Trump’s diehard worshipers may indeed signal our world’s “last days.” How else can it be explained?

Very good article STEVE (fixed it). While I fear another Biden term more than the second coming of Trump, what you write could apply to both parties. Neither seem inclined at the moment to do the right thing. The Republicans are too fractured, and the democrats are paralyzed. I do believe the democrats will persuade or threaten Joe Biden in some fashion to replace him on the ticket. I honestly do not believe he can govern, and Kamala is an anchor. Trump cannot be persuaded to do the same.

Sorry, Steve. It is still a very good article. Damn senior moments are occurring more frequently.

I read articles like this one from Steve a couple of times a month and what always amazes me is no one ever tells us who should fill the void and that will magically beat trump if Biden "dissolves." .No one. I suspect that ship has sailed at least a year ago. But what the heck do i know eh?

Then it all got more confusing when i got to the comment section. Wholly crap, really? Come on Matt (sorry but i had to do a Google search, i've seen his name, never read anything he's written to my knowledge), find your own column name. Imagine this guy trying to hijack your small band of followers. Is there no shame left in this world?

And as long i am asking questions, curious if those of you leaning right see the Supreme Court as compromised as those of us who believe in the rule of law, right and wrong and societal norms?

1. Correct it is Biden or Trump

2. We are The Racket News.

3. Supreme Court continues to commit unforced errors of judgement which undermine court credibility. They will carry on with their work.

Correct. But we are better in so many ways (and we had the name first).

Nope. We like our name and won’t be muscled out of it. Matt Taibbi had plenty of opportunities to use a different name (and in fact was “TK News” before he changed it.

And there have been plenty of us here for years. If Taibbi wants to stop losing readers to the original superior publication, the ball is in his court.

I might have been misdirected to the wrong building here. The first couple of articles have seem so thoroughly aligned with legacy media—nothing much like Matt Taibbi, whom I guess might be connected to the other Racket.

Is not Matt the legacy of a legacy media reporter?
