"If you qualify to vote absentee, you can get your ballot in advance and take your time researching the candidates before you vote." Your comment David begs the question; why can't everyone? Having lived in Arizona for 21 years now, we converted from standing in line to mail ballots years ago and i cannot imagine going back.
In fact when i see long lines on television of voters on election day, i scratch my head and wonder why anyone thinks that is a good thing? Add in the new dimension of "poll watchers" with an odd bent and the AZ goofs hanging around polling stations who are strapped and obnoxiously present, i would want no part of that manufactured scene.
One can only give their head a shake to listen to the former president tell us how good mail in voting is in Florida, but in blue states it's all rigged. Who really gives two flying figs about consistency in and argument?
The real tragedy here is if trump loses, he will have begun the whining long before the first ballot is counted. Worse yet, the ugliness that will follow will make Jan 6 look like a walk in the park.
I enjoy going to the polls and voting, when I can. I do not live in an urban area, so the wait is reasonable. I often find neighbors and friends to socialize with. So not a big deal for me.
I mostly vote early in-person. My travel schedule makes hitting the polls on Election Day iffy and there is almost never a line. An exception was the 2020 general.
