100% agreed.

While we're at it, we should apply some benevolent Imperialism in our own backyard, under the umbrella of a neo-Monroe Doctrine[1]. Send in an overwhelming force after rescuing the hostages and restore law and order in that country. Recruit and incentivize productive Haitians who have been successfully living and working here and have been "Americanized" to return to the country as members of its new elite class (business, gov't, clergy, educators) and give those repatriated Haitians a hotline for help should they need it, and enough resources now and resources in the future to successfully rebuild the country.

Use Haiti as a testbed and practice zone for rebuilding our neighbors and integrating them into a tight community of American nations (not unlike the early European Economic Community). Develop a playbook that works to make these nations tolerable to reside within again once more, and can be used in other Western Hemisphere problem spots like the Central American nations folks are fleeing from and attempting cross our southern border to escape. Demonstrate to the world that United States is not a waning power and will work to promote democracy, stable governments, and free markets, especially in our own back yard.

Why not send in Russian Special Forces?! They would be Severely Punished!
