Steve: I hope you are right but sadly i expect not. Too many have gone too far down the rabbit hole and will never come out. When i read (and enjoyed) your comments on The Resurgent i often disagreed, though almost always respected your positions. They were usually backed up with logical thinking and an explanation why.

When you supported trump (albeit begrudgingly), your explanation was steeped in your beliefs. Everyone has that right and should vote for whom they feel best serves their needs and ideologies. It has been the way our country has worked since its inception.

Then along comes trump and the world as we now it has been blown to pieces. Accepting winners and losers of elections came with the game. For four long years he has made a shambles of the norms most of us accepted and respected.

Now we live in a world of alternate realities. I read an article last week that said trump has spent his entire life telling lies and getting be with them. Worse then spewing them, he is now at a point where he believes them to be the truth. It is the only way he can survive, by convincing himself he is right and the rest of us are wrong.

None of it would matter if he was just another guy running a marketing/branding company. He's not, he is the freaking president of the United States. Now he has infected 40% of the countries population to believe in his certifiable craziness.

I'm not sure what that says about the state of our nation, but it doesn't bode well. Not sure how evangelicals will change things, even if embracing Christ. I believe our only hope is that Biden, Mitch and several of the senate republicans can and will put the country ahead of politics and works towards compromise and change. Once trump is on the sidelines, ignore him and render him meaningless...that alone will make him even crazier.

I don't go to church anymore. Nor do I consider myself a christian, because of the perversion of that name in today's age. So maybe you see something that I don't but in my experience Trump has even divided the church. I've gone to churches and they are either all Trump or pretend he doesn't exist. How do you heal from those options is beyond me.
