some of us do at least follow these....and understand the fullness of the 10. But we also know, if we screw up,,,,,we repent on that blood shed for us.....Our choice to claim the promise.
First off, there is no such thing as any "separation of church and state." Any state is free to post anything they want of a religious nature, and it's none of the Federal Government's business, per the 10th amendment. No court in the land should strike down this law, up to and including the SCOTUS, or they will be in violation of the Constitution. The FIRST amendment states, "CONGRESS shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, nor prohibiting the free exercise thereof." The ONLY thing this speaks to is prohibiting the FEDERAL govt from establishing ONE religion or set of beliefs as being the Supreme religion of the land. Otherwise, we are free to worship God, or no God, as we see fit. Concerning the states, Louisiana can indeed pass any law they like, and as an example, Pennsylvania, if they see fit, could pass a law prohibiting the 10 commandments from being posted. States rights...and as an aside, as a result of this law being passed in Louisiana, if the citizens want to, they can vote out those legislators who passed the law, and vote in one's who will repeal it.
What happens when little Sally comes home to ask what adultery is?
I thought repubs wanted "protect" children from sex talk by indoctrinati class of communist fascist woke hive mob teachers that are ruining America?
Little Sally should only learn about adultery when her pastor apologizes from the pulpit for that ONE time he raped a 12 year old girl for SEVERAL years... but then jeebus forgave him, so it's all good.
Teachers have an impossible job. The biggest problems in low success states are the parents and the students. Some administrators are also a problem, but many are trapped by trying to educate students who want no part of it and whose parents do not care or have given up. It will only get worse as math and proper English and reading skills deteriorate.
It's not "woke" to include women in the draft. Look at places like Israel, Ukraine, and the Kurds to see women fighters at the forefront of combat and kicking ass.
No doubt women should be allowed to serve in the military and in combat roles if inclined and able. For Israel it is a need to have woman in the military. Personally I would not be in favor at this time to compulsory female draft at this time. We have sufficient able males. Voluntary yes. Maybe I am old fashioned?
And of course, which version of the Ten Commandments are we talking about - as there are differences between the Torah and Christian versions, and of course amongst Christian sects. This is all about elevating one Christian sect above the others.
To paraphrase FDR: "We are not Americans by blood or race or creed. But by a commitment to a set of ideals. Anyone can be an American."
I am unaware of material differences between Torah and Christian translations of Exodus 20. And I grew up Jewish, reading it in Hebrew, and am now Christian, with a large selection of translations.
Bingo!

The commandments were posted in my elementary school. I never thought once to run home and ask that question.

Women could do well in some combat roles. Very few are suited for small-team special forces operations in isolated locations.

This is a little simplified, but decent : https://mirwriter.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/10cmd-diffs.gif
More importantly, in Judaism the commandments are binding and in Christianity they are not (at least from Paul's position).
