Your neuroticism is justified. Jews are more widely hated than any ethnic group on earth. I see it in comments on right- and left-wing websites and from people of all religions (including some Jews) and nationalities and political organizations. I think it's largely a sin of envy. Jews are pretty much a normal group of people except for a higher percentage of accomplishment and success.
On the Reiners, rumors were going around last night that their son Nick - who has been in and out of rehab - was involved, and as of this morning he's been placed into custody on $4mil bail. No specific charge yet announced, only that it's a felony.
On the Brown shooting, it did occur in a Jewish professor's class for Principles of Economics. The professor wasn't present, but it's important to note she also part of the Judaic Studies program at Brown. (We should also talk about the incompetence of Kash Patel - three times now he's put out bad info about suspects...)
I'm really not looking forward to having "the talk" with my kids about anti-Jew hatreds, especially as my little one is only 6 - but I know it's gotta happen sometime...
