Contraception should be free and encouraged.

No one has said that doing the right thing is easy. One can sympathize with this woman's situation and understand what she did without condoning it. This is, in its way, an illustration of the saying "Christianity has not bedn tried and found wanting. It has been found difficult and left untried." Some things are wrong, no matter why we do them. Abortion is one of them.

We need more pro-lifers to actually live the phrase, rather than simply being pro-birth then failing to GAF after the first breath. You’re avowedly not that, but there seem to be few of you.

As always, it depends: in this case, 22 weeks is ~2-3 weeks before viability (with access to advanced medical tech, ~10 weeks prior without said access) but is around the point where the development of the brain is at the point of senses being present.

This is where "What does it mean to be a living human being?" matters. Is it just a heartbeat, or is it something more that makes us human beings?

To answer your question, yes, abortion is murder.

I don’t understand Abortion, it is murder. I feel it should only be allowed for instances that could endanger the life of the mother or (provable rape). Just my opinion.

Interesting reading through the comments. I knew it would bring out the diehards; murder is murder. If only they climbed on their high horses and shouted from the rooftops when Alex Pretti was murdered on the streets of Minneapolis as he was held down by a gang of 7 or 8 thugs in Ice uniforms. After all, murder is murder.

Alex P was a political paid activist who kicked an Ice Agent’s car, spit at an Ice agent and repeatedly obstructed law enforcement agents from doing g tbeir jobs he was not an innocent victim. He brought a gun to the scene!

So he deserved to be shot? Just curious how that fits with your pro-life stance?

Why was this woman aborting a baby at five months gestation? There's no excuse for that. That is murder. These late-term abortions are the slippery slope -- actually calling abortion 'health care' is slippery slope.

And where was the FATHER? She already has two kids and yet it sounds like there's no man around? In that case why wasn't she using birth control?

One thing that abortion on demand has led to is a massive increase in absent fathers because they dump their seed expecting the woman to abort whatever comes of that.

I used to be pro abortion but have since changed my mind. All it's done is generate the worst behavior and the children that do manage to make it out alive suffer life with a single mother. It's been chaos ever since the 70s.

This is one seriously disgusting story.

She already has existing children? She apparently didn't want another. What's wrong with cutting the tubes?

Some people are such hypocritical liars! Saying you are “opposed to abortion” and then wringing your hands over a woman who deliberately said she didn”t want her baby to live” so she took abortion pills that would kill her baby is willingly denying a baby’s right to life. The mother waited untill the baby was well formed at 22 weeks of pregnancy to murder her! Her friend told the mother she would take the baby and care for it well but the mother still killed her baby. “ A tragic case?” Aren’t all murders tragic? Loss of a newborn innocent baby’s life is even more tragic. There is plenty of welfare in this country to provide for single mothers and supportive pro life centers who assist pregnant women financially, spiritually, and lovingly. The mother can receive psychiatric care even if she is convicted but the baby cannot receive any care at all since she is dead.

There is nothing inconsistent about being against abortion and being compassionate and acknowledging the factors that drive many women to abortion.

Not unless you are sympathizing with the mother who murdered her baby to the point where you voice your hope that she won’t be held legally accountable and ask the question “ Is abortion really murder?” Your strong suggestion is no, not if the mother is under a great deal of stress. You also assume the mother is not supported and society is to blame for not providing support for woman bearing babies they can’t or don’t want to support. No one forced her to have sex ( that we know of) and in this case, no one was forcing her to keep the baby.
