"However, unless the Biden Administration tries to enact yet another extension to the eviction ban, it seems likely that the clock will run out and the issue will be moot before the courts can decide the issue."

This seems like a good case where the federal judiciary needs to halt the implementation of the extension immediately until the it has time to resolve the issue in the courts. As I pointed out to folks on Facebook, this is technically a new moratorium - given that the old one expired before this one was proclaimed - so the onus should be on the Biden administration to show that it's constitutional before it can take effect, especially in light of the SCOTUS ruling on the last one.

If the courts don't act now, we're in for a lot of future shenanigans that are explicitly unconstitutional, but wrap up faster than the courts' ability to respond meaningfully.

Yes, I think an injunction would be appropriate.

Despite your preemptive statement about those who would favor impeachment of Biden right now, you can add me to the list of fringe Republicans. The only reason I would not is because I see no better alternatives in the line of succession. They all suck. Honest elections are the only remedy.

That's a good point about succession. Republicans hate Kamala and that's who they'd wind up with.

I made the same point to Dems about impeaching Trump and getting Pence as a result. The GOP would have gotten the better end of that deal.

Pence would have been a good President but I do not believe he would have gotten as many votes as Trump. Biden probably would have gotten fewer votes also because not as many Trump haters would have been inspired to vote democrat. The only serious group of Pence haters I can think of are the LGBQT*** and their activist friends. Either Republican option would be preferable to what we have now.
