I awoke to three emails this morning in my in box; one from your old buddy EE, my morning Bulwark and your Racket News. Odd collection given i am a "liberal." I read all three, usually i ignore EE. This morning though, he was still able to attack Biden's speech last night, while most of the free world applauded it. Oh well. I guess it's the cost of keeping your paid followers (i'm not one).

For your thoughts on Josh Paul i'll keep it simple: "don't let the door hit you on the ass on your way out." That goes for anyone else pleading for sitting on their hands and doing nothing. Hamas is evil. The Bulwark had a brilliant back and forth between Charlie and Ben Wittes. It's longer than i would expect but the point was simple: "there's a lot of things that we think of as immoral that are actually perfectly lawful."

It's a good read and fits nicely with your comments Steve. I see no way the hostages are ever coming back and i see no way for Israel not to go in and level Gaza to rubble. Sadly, it's the only way the Jews can overcome the position Hamas has put them in. Innocent lives will be lost, which sadly is what the Hamas leaders so badly crave.

Turning the other cheek and walking away may sound good to some, but ignoring the reality of the situation is wholly another thing. This is one of those times where i would give them exactly what they want...and then way more. AND, THE USA SHOULD BE THERE EVERY STEP OF THE WAY.

Horseshoe theory is being proven to be correct more and more as of late, huh?

We need to recognize that the current political issue of prime import is not between liberal and conservative, but between liberalism and authoritarianism/totalitarianism. It's going to require that the center of the political spectrum (progressives, moderates, conservatives) unite to deny the extremes their goals of violence and division.

This is not about you and others like you Josh Paul so stop trying to make it be. What a colossal jerk! I have listened to a couple of The Free Press podcasts and they are heart wrenching. Hamas has lost all their humanity thus deserves no quarter as far as I’m concerned. The MSM have their own agendas and can’t be trusted. I am not Jewish nor affiliated with any religion unless you consider being a humanist a religion, but it seems obvious to me that Hamas are soulless. My thoughts and well wishes to the people of Israel and every Jew worldwide.

Look, Israel has always wanted to take all of the land left to the Palestinians after 1947. They have been stealing it incrementally ever since. They are trying to drive the 2+ million remaining Palestinians off their land so they can appropriate it. This has nothing to do with Hamas, who are acting in total desperation after 8 decades of abuse by Israel. If Israel wanted peace they could have it tomorrow by granting the Palestinians their autonomy and remove all restrictions on movement and trade. But if they keep oppressing their neighbors, Israel will never have peace. Fences, barbed wire, guard towers, sanctions, and sniper shootings do not make for good neighborly relations.

If Israel wanted to take the land, they would have taken it. They left Gaza in 2005. Some in Israel want to take all the Palestinian land, true, but they are an extremist minority which because Netanyahu empowered them brought a million Israelis into the streets to protest. Israel has its extremists, but they aren't ruling the country. Hamas is an extremist organization that wants nothing less than to finish Hitler's plan. They rule Gaza, and nobody seems intent on removing them, so it falls to Israel. I agree Israel will never have peace with the Palestinians, not until Jesus returns. But they do have peace with Egypt, Jordan, Yemen, UAE, and soon, Saudi Arabia (Israel was never at war with the Saudis in any case).

You are the one rationalizing decades of apartheid, starvation and repression in the world's largest open-air prison. Anyone who thinks this is the first transgression in the last 70 years is either unintentionally or willfully ignorant. It would have never come to this if Israel had treated the Palestinians with respect and allowed them to have their own country. Obviously, the Israelis want to steal the rest of the Palestinians land, and that is the crux of the problem. I only came to your site because it keeps popping up on my Substack page. Tell me how to turn that off and I will never, ever come here again. I have no interest in the discussions here.

My family played a role in the Israel / Palestine mess. One of my dad's cousins was part of a study commission during the early stages. His position favored United Nations control.

This interview between Saudi TV and a Hamas leader is important: https://x.com/hxhassan/status/1715404424326074443?s=20

You people are so mentally ill. Killing is all you want, so why not go to the ME and do some killing yourselves? It is people like you who have made the world into a powder keg waiting to explode. You haven't got a decent bone in your bodies and have no interest in peace. You can't even see apartheid when it stares you in the face.

I’ll point out that Hamas started with war with a mass unprovoked attack that was unparalleled in its savagery. You can rationalize and excuse this behavior if you want, but don’t expect to come on our site, insult us, and stay here long. If you’re looking to be banned, we will happily oblige.

John, you're new here so firstly: welcome.

Secondly, the forces of peace recognize both Israel's and Palestine's right to exist in peace. Working towards that goal will require that Hamas be removed from the equation - as they will not work towards a peaceable solution for Israel and Palestine, which will involve concessions from Israel and Palestine.

Until such a time that said concessions and agreement are made, Israel is in a state of needing to defend their people - and that involves striking back at those that attack them.

A question for you: do you care more about the Palestinian people, or the Palestinian Cause?
