Rumor has it (ha) that his goal is to run again for guv of WV. He is in the sweet spot to do it if true.

His approvals are in the 60's in his state. Why would he care if the minority of the dem party (the progressives) are putting the hate on him. "Oh, noes!" Don't hit me again. Don't throw me in the briar patch". Bernie and the crew have been running ads against in WV for months. Millions of anti-Manchin dollars down the drain.

Manchin would be hated by republicans far more than he is hated by democrats. He would also be powerless as a republican. Not to mention he would be loss the next primary election. I can't think of a dumber thing he could do than switch parties.

I don't like what the far left has done to him for his voting record. That isn't fair, but what is fair is people disliking him for how he handled this whole thing. It really seems like he has let the power he has go to his head. He is not helping the democratic party whatsoever with his antics in this one particular case. 97 percent voting record with President Biden though says he's a pretty good democrat.

The mine workers union is out of sync with their rank and file. The workers want jobs, and the union leadership wants taxpayers' money to keep their cushy jobs. The coal companies cannot continue to pay miners AND support the union. I believe Manchin is with the workers who have the votes to keep him in office. Manchin is smart and he will win this battle.
