I've been dealing with my retired parents falling into this "Disaster Cycle" pseudoscience cult[1]. It's a weird mixture of alternative physics (electromagnetism is the dominant organizing force in the universe, not gravity), prepperism, and stories about "the Elites" hiding the truth from regular people (while said "Elites" are building bunkers in the WORST places to survive the doom that will kill surface dwellers in a decade or two).
All put together by a shady lawyer pretending that he's reading all of the science, while failing to understand how science works in the first place.[2]
