As a Chicago resident who wonders if Atlanta is trying to take our crime capital crown, is the crime wave concentrated in specific low-income gang-ridden neighborhoods? Or are you seeing it more widely distributed?

The bulk of the shootings you hear about in Chicago are in a handful of neighborhoods, but we are seeing an up-tick in robberies as gangs have learned that if they're quick enough, they can execute a smash and grab (drive up in a stolen car, quickly rob person / store, hop back in the car before the police can respond). A lot of this latter crime comes from criminals learning that the cops aren't everywhere at once, and a lot of stores have policies for staff to not confront the thieves. (Like we saw in the San Francisco Walgreens incident.)

I'm curious how this is developing in your neck of the woods.

As cities go, Atlanta is pretty well integrated with Asians, Hispanics, and Blacks. Ethnic groups do not stand out in business areas although they might in some exclusive neighborhoods. Speaking from 100 miles away, it appears that ordinary criminal activity is more widespread than actual shootings. But some shootings have occurred everywhere from Georgia Tech to upscale shopping and dining areas. It's a big urban area which will probably will stretch from Macon to Chattanooga and from Augusta to Birmingham in another five or six decades.

You are in trouble in Atlanta until you have a Mayor that unapologetically and publicly agrees with the recently coined phrase .... "Everything Woke turns to SHIT"

Kaseem Reed and and any close associates of Bill Campbell should probably be in prison. I moved to Atlanta in 1958 and do not recall any corrupt mayors until those two came on the scene.
