BTW, the biggest problem we have now is that odds makers in the UK (political betting is illegal in the US) still have Trump at an implied win probability of 54.55%, with Biden at 43.48%. The odds don't lie because bettors want to win. Then again, it's razor close. https://www.oddstrader.com/betting/analysis/us-election-odds/

I read a lot of comments on the internet. I probably would be better off if i didn't. My sense is, those comments only help support the idea, American's as a whole are growing dumber by the day. We've allowed our continuing education regarding almost any topic to be driven by memes, social media and sound bytes.

Think not? Does anyone reading this page believe the garbage crapped out of the mouth of MTG that the DOJ's warrant to search Mara logo included a plan to assassinate trump? Anyone?

Yet here we are and trump is blowing hard about the plan...and folks are eating it up. If they are eating that shit sandwich David, why wouldn't they swallow the idea that good paying jobs was anything more than a communist plot foisted on them by Biden?

Dumber by the day, perhaps even by the hour.

Your first point is a good one. NIMBY is most often bad. Sometimes there are legitimate concerns about a sensitive environmental area, overcrowding and scenery pollution but generally not. I suspect the proposed development is largely the result of Brian Kemp's focus on economic development. Of course, the senators will claim credit as will Joe Biden although his CHIP initiative did not mention west Georgia. If I were still in the site development business, northwest Harris County along I-185, near I-85; but not too close to Pine Mountain, FDR State Park or Callaway Garden, halfway between Montgomery and Atlanta' would be ideal. I believe water requirements for such a plant could be managed by storage and cooling ponds because the topography lends itself to ponds. The most historical site I am aware of in the area is that Chet Atkins spent much of his youth in Fortson.
