Welcome to a special edition of the Racket News! This is our first presidential election as an outlet. We launched The Racket News shortly after the 2020 elections so in a way this is our birthday… or at least our first full cycle. To celebrate, we are kicking off our first annual… er… quadrennial Electoral Count contest.
The Racket News writers have submitted their educated guesses on this year’s Electoral College results, and we will give our readers a chance to match wits against us. The prize will be that most sought after of treasures: Bragging rights. And if we ever get any merch we’ll send you some (but don’t hold your breath).
And now, without further ado, here are our Electoral College predictions:
David
This year, the Electoral College outcome is truly a guess. Every swing state is a tossup. Each state and the overall election could go either way.
I’m basing my picks largely on vibes. Trump has consistently led in Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina and I think he’ll hold on there, but he hasn’t been able to put himself over the top elsewhere. I think that Trump’s recent gaffes and - we’ll call it polarizing - behavior combined with good economic news will persuade undecided voters to break for Harris.
MAGA has a long history of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. I think/hope that pattern will repeat.
Steve:
This is for all the folks so confident Trump is going to win and win big. This is for the pundits who cite early voting numbers with weak support from Black men. This is for National Review editor Rich Lowry who wrote this is the “strongest Trump ever.” This is for all the data guys and pollsters afraid of their own shadows. This is for the French voters who were guaranteed to elect Marine Le Pen. This is for everyone in Georgia (the country) who are fighting actual election stealing violence by Moscow-aligned thugs. This is for the south Georgia lawyer who has earned scorn from his own neighbors and friends for being a Harris Republican. This is for everyone who’s ever been insulted by a Trump acolyte for saying bad stuff about their little orange god. This is for every country fighting to stomp out rampant and suffocating ultra-nationalist would-be tyrants and oligarchs. This is for Mexico, whose voters elected the first female, Jewish president in North America’s history. This is for Haiti, San Juan, and all the other places we should be helping, not lying about and making fun of. This is for the fentanyl-addicted families who have been ignored by both parties, but need a sane government.
Remember, evil doesn’t need permission to be evil, but it sure helps when you give it.
If Trump wins, so be it, and we will pray for the man to govern somehow, and be transformed by a power he has never known. Anything is possible with God. But on the other hand, what can be known is the will of the people, writ large. And my prediction is it will be writ super large across the country.

Now that you’ve seen our predictions, give us yours. We’ll take submissions via email at TheRacketNews@gmail.com between now and noon Eastern time on Monday, November 4. Just fill out your map on 270towin.com and send us the link. Guesses in the comments section are welcome but will not be considered for the contest.
As I said, there is no prize money, but if you win you’ll become the Undisputed Heavyweight Electoral College-Guessing Champion of the World of the Racket News with all the rights, privileges, duties, and immunities that such a lofty title entails. That and $5 might get a cup of coffee, but this is a free site. What did you expect?
We look forward to seeing your submissions, and I’ll be disappointed if no one hits the nail on the head.
Remember, to enter the contest just copy and paste TheRacketNews@gmail.com into your email and send us the link to your Electoral map from 270towin.com.
Sorry, i don't do polls or EC predictions. In 2016 i made a fool of myself as i listened to those smarter than me tell me Hillary couldn't lose because of the electoral college. Duh.
Here's my take; Harris wins for two reasons:
1). Women (thank you ladies).
2). True conservatives (thanks Liz, Adam et al).
A sub-group observation: Bro boys too busy staying home playing their game-boy toy and fantasizing over finding trump-women who may be willing to move off spending time with the orange god (small g intended).
Finally, i like Steve/Merries projections best. It might just be wishful thinking because it makes the violence far less likely.
PS...not piss...i am looking for 10 million vote difference with trump getting his 75 million...you can do the math on what that gives Harris.
