I'm disappointed you opted not to vote since you devote a lot of your time to pondering and writing about political events. The Republican Party questions were a draw enough for me to take the time to vote. Thanks again to Merrie Soltis for her contribution to The Racket News regarding the Republican ballot questions.
Funny. I sent a message by voting. I voted the questions and the state Supreme Court Judge. I refuse to endorse any unopposed incumbents and opted not to vote for any other challenged seats.
I can't imagine what Israel could peacefully do with the knowledge of "who Palestine is" especially if whoever that is cannot be trusted. I also can't imagine what a widely broadcast "pubic embarrassment" is.
I’ll address the second one first. “Public embarrassment” is when the army goes in and physically removes people, kicking and dragging, from their own homes and businesses they’ve built with their own hands or had in the family for a generation in order to hand their property over to an enemy who did not win the land by conquest or purchase but was given it by treaty without consent of those who are being deprived of it.
As for knowing who Palestine is, at least Arafat was upfront about being a demagogue. Most of the leadership who would be willing to work with Israel is scared of being assassinated by religious extremists even though working with Israel is the one way Palestinians can improve their lives.
Good read Steve and i'm now even more confused by it all. So, one simple question to help me break it all down. From an outsider with limited knowledge or understanding, if Netanyahu is gone, is there a better chance to solve this mess?
There is no magic wand to fix the Israeli Palestinian conflict. It is long and complicated. That said perhaps a new prime minister with a different approach may help. There are no Israelis that rank safety as anything other than the number one concern. Netanyahu failed at job one, so he will soon be replaced regardless if that is better or not.

Not voting sends the message I intended to send.

Thanks. I was sure you meant "public", but it still reads "pubic" in your text. Just so I don't have to check out porn sites for more information.
Oh! Wow what a typo. Gonna have to fix that one!
Thanks Steve. Appreciate discussion of what recognition means from differing perspectives.

Great question! Since Netanyahu largely contributed to the mess, probably. But we can’t be certain.
