The only other thing that I would add to this is that the GOP should make it a point of reaching out to legal immigrant groups that have a natural affinity for a conservative message (beat "The American Dream" drum) to have something to show that they are actively recruiting new voters, and not just trying to enact procedural shenanigans to make up for a shrinking voter base.
Steal the Democrats' (and anti-Trump folks') playbook and follow the model of the Republican Voters Against Trump (RVAT) by featuring immigrant and minority voices prominently talking about why they moved to America, what they've been able to accomplish here, and why they are keen for their children and family to grow up here. Instead of the typical attack ads, go positive with real people accomplishing real improvements in their life and claim the mantle of the party of the American Dream. That would resonate with everyone keeping their heads down and working hard, have absolutely nothing to do with Donald Trump, and put Democrats (especially woke ones) on the defensive where they have to argue against the USA being a land of opportunity for those intent on seizing it.
It would definitely be better for everyone if the GOP stood *for* something, instead of just being reflexively against anything the Democratic Party wants. Ideally, what they stand for would also be popular or at least well argued from a principled position.
Enough of the "It's too hard to appeal" or "It'll take too much time". Enough demonization.
Although I disagree, I could live with an ant-Trump message if it meant a win without becoming democrat progressives. What it would really mean is that Republicans would lose half their voters to loser third parties or staying at home instead of voting. No way would they be able to draw enough voters from other groups to make up that loss.
The message wouldn't be anti-Trump, it would be silent on Big Don. I'd assume that conservatives of all stripes (as well as plenty of persuadable independents and some Democrats) would be able to rally behind "the American Dream" without having the message become a referendum on Trump or Jan. 6th. I'm arguing that the GOP should steal the *style* of the RVAT ads with simple videos of people identifying themselves and giving short messages about why they are here and how they are succeeding BECAUSE of conservative values and the idea of the American Dream.
Sorry but I do not see anything but an anti-trump message. They may be trying for a softer tone but the message is still: Trump and Republicans suck. How does that differ from an anti-democrat, anti-Biden/Harris message already being espoused by Republicans? We've already seen the self-determination message fail with minorities.
If Trump is the GOP and the sum total of its platform then this would be true. I hope no one person is the embodiment of a political parry. Anything like that is not a political party, it’s a cult.
So, the GOP should turn its back on the black (+4 Trump vs 2016), Hispanic (+4 Trump since 2016), and other minority voters[1] who offset much of Trump's losses in the white suburban regions?
Latinos[2]:
"Gabriela Saucedo was 22 years old when she arrived in the United States from Mexico in pursuit of the American Dream. Through years of hard work and perseverance, she managed to build a successful life in Arizona. Now, at 56, she believes President Trump is the best candidate to keep that dream alive."
"Saucedo is among a coalition of Republican Latinos in the battleground state of Arizona who believe having Trump for a second term would guarantee their concerns and conservative social values — centered on the economy and faith — are protected and maintained."
"'I want to have the opportunity to continue with my American Dream, that is why I came to this country as an immigrant,' said Saucedo, who became an American citizen in 1991 and is running for a position on the Pima County Board of Supervisors."
I'm surprised to think that you can't conceive of the GOP promoting free enterprise, a robust economy, and individual liberty to make one's own future without bringing Trump and all his baggage into it. January 6th shrunk Trump's already minority base (as in # of voters, not demographics), so it would be a boon to Republicans to expand the progress they already made in minority communities in 2020 while regaining lost ground in the suburbs by jettisoning the negatives from the Trump era and promoting the things that did work as a general party position, rather than the party position being fealty to one man, who might hold those values when it's convenient for him.
No, I would be satisfied if Trump were still President. I'm not one of those who worked against him. Someone else is throwing those votes away. Having said that, I don't believe any mushy, semi-Republicans will necessarily keep those votes and I know he/she would not keep all the Trump voters.
I’d love to talk to Lt Gov Duncan Hunter about GOP 2.0. That intrigues me.

Apologies if I was unclear.

Imagine this, but with people more positively stumping for opportunity and success enabled by hard work and basic American values.
