I do not shop with any firm that does not display total cost before clicking on purchase. Tariffs will most likely have only short-term significant price effects. If you do not buy it, you are not financially affected. Restaurants are learning that the hard way - and not because of tariffs. China and other nations will learn a similar lesson.
We will soon learn the extent of presidential deportation authority. I don't think it's going fast enough but I will live with whatever the Supremes rule.
I think you’ll find that it’s going to be hard to find products that aren’t imported, built with foreign components, or domestic products that don’t raise prices to take advantage of higher import prices. That’s the whole point of tariffs.
I think Amazon will still display the total tax which will include tariffs, just not as a separate line item. The tell will be if sales taxes go from $2 to $30 on a $20 item, for example.
Hence my comment about restaurants. People will quickly learn what they can live without. Their learning curve for what are necessities will also be accelerated. They will more quickly consider the consequences of relying on non-friendly nations for essentials such as medicine. Domestic production of commodities such as medicine can be ramped up rather quickly. Others, such as heavy industrial machinery would take longer but, generally, the need will not be as immediate.

And really, they should display how much tariffs are - because then people can more readily see what products are/are not subjected to them.
However, that will likely not capture how much even a US-made item is tariffed for its components.
Does anyone really care about the cost of tariffs on a commodity unless they really need it?
People buy things they both need and want: let them be informed as to how much of the price is tariffs or gouging
