On the issue of ICE and Chicago, I - the whitest-bread guy you can think of - have started putting Mexican flag stickers on my outside gear to see how many idiot ICE agents I can snag as they work to fulfill their Stephen Miller quotas for harassing the Hispanics and Latinos that are a part of my neighborhood and community.[1]

Haven't seen much action in the parts of the city I frequent (yet), but the locals did a decent job harrying agents at a Broadview detention center in the suburbs this weekend.[2]

BTW - the sticker idea isn't mine - LA women have started doing the same thing, and I'm just following their lead.

Please let us know if you “snag” any ICE agents, or anything else that you witness.

Will do.

It's been quiet in my neighborhood thus far, but I'm looking forward to documenting the idiocy. It may be a while, as they probably haven't tried to raid ALL the Home Depot parking lots around here (do they even know about Menards?), so it will likely be a bit before they run out of easy targets and start traipsing around Wrigleyville.

That said, whatever sign or sticker I may have pales in comparison to this guy and his plane flying over the Bears season opener last night:

Until last night I wasn't aware that The Resistance had an air force.

I'm waiting for the real action to start. Hoping to see you soon with your little sign denigrating the National Guard. Fox News doesn't show enough of the crowds so it would help if you wear a brightly colored CJK t-shirt. Say hello to Mike Tobin for me.

The sign is less about denigrating the National Guard members (who probably don't have any choice where they are, unlike the ICE goons who could quit tomorrow), and more about reminding them that their Commander in Chief has sent them here on a mission that makes ZERO sense and is just wasting THEIR time as a distraction to keep folks from finding out who else is in the Epstein Files (such as his donors[1]).

So you do not believe in effective law enforcement when you describe necessary undercover techniques approved by professionals as goon behavior.

Chris J. Karr's avatar

I believe effective law enforcement has a component where it works in conjunction with the community - and as part of the community - to address that community's problems.

What is happening here is a bunch of GOONS being parachuted into communities to terrorize them because Stephen Miller has fetish for treating broad swaths of our country as subhumans.

If this were effective law enforcement, they wouldn't be hiding behind masks, and detaining hundreds of people on a warrant with four people listed on it.[1]

This is all about making a bunch of small people feel bigger than they are by exercising power to make the lives of others miserable.

Effective law enforcement would include federal and local law enforcement getting to know the communities that they are policing and working with the leaders in those communities to root out troublemakers for the benefit of everyone.

What is happening here is a bunch of thugs with Punisher complexes being given permission to raid communities that they have no connection with as a grand kabuki gesture that "something's being done". Everyone recognizes that the actual troublemakers are harder targets than the baby Punishers are willing to take on, so they make up for their cowardice by raiding Home Depot parking lots, picking up guys looking for work to feed their families.

Sorry, I do not believe in fairy tales. You are condemning the LEO agents instead of those who caused the problem, the immediate past federal administration who allowed and encouraged unchecked lawlessness. The state and local administrations who know where the criminals are and who they are, and yet do nothing to prevent the carnage.

The law allows arresting criminals who are collaterally discovered when LEOs execute a warrant. The courts will decide if the tactics required to sort out the millions of lawbreakers imported by an administration that ignored the law is illegal goonery. I will accept the verdict even if I do not agree. Will you? Or will you secede from the USA along with the rest of the state of Illinois?

More goon behavior:

“I was on my way to work one day. An ICE officer said to me: ‘You look Mexican.’ I said: ‘I am not. I am from Northern Ireland.’

“They asked me if I had my paperwork with me. I don’t know who carried that stuff around with them anyway; I would want to keep it somewhere safe.

“It was like I was kidnapped off of the street. I managed to get through to my partner on the phone while they were shackling me in the streets.

“They were trying to say I ran a stop sign. I was on a bike — there was no stop sign. I had stopped to let a car go by me. But they needed some form of probable cause.

“The man who was arresting me looked at my phone. My screensaver is a picture of my partner and me. He said: ‘He looks Haitian. This might be a two-for-one deal today.’

“They brought me to the Krome Detention Centre in Miami.”

I believe the Lisburn man is a liar who is pissed because his belief that he was "entitled to stay in the USA because of personal considerations" did not actually confer legal status. There's more to this story. The Belfast Telegraph has asked the DHS to comment. It would be interesting to see if they publish further info.

According to the local paper, he had federal authorization for working and was in the middle of his green card process:

"Two weeks ago, Lee Stinton was a popular Key West hairdresser with a job, a partner of four years, a dog named Ernest Heminggay, an employment authorization from the federal government and a green card application moving through the immigration process."[1]

The article goes on to explain that he had overstayed a visa, but he wasn't hiding out - he was going through the immigration process to become a permanent resident and paying his taxes in the meantime:

"But, back in 2018, when Stinton first arrived in the U.S. and his marriage dissolved into abuse, his travel/work visa expired."

"'So yes, he had overstayed a visa seven years ago, and that’s what ICE is using to detain and possibly deport him,' Davis said. 'But we don’t understand, because in the past seven years, the federal government hasn’t once used that against him, and instead has allowed him to proceed along the way to getting a green card. He doesn’t have so much as a parking ticket. He has all his 1099s. He’s been paying taxes and has no arrests. It’s terrifying because we don’t know what’s going to happen.'"

This is precisely the stupid GOON behavior that I'm talking about. You beat a big drum about ICE coming to Chicago to deal with the criminal element, but what danger was this gay hairdresser to his community? How much time was wasted meeting a stupid Stephen Miller deportation quota[2] instead actually removing violent criminals off the street? Everytime I read a story about ICE going after people like Stinton, I can't help but visualize an actual Latin King or MS-13 gang member laughing their asses off, because this administration is wasting time "protecting" communities from hairdressers paying their taxes than actual violent gangbangers shooting up communities.

I actually wonder how the national guard feels about all this. As a marine I hated being assigned to special duty picking up trash and nonsense. I can't imagine being called away from my normal life to go stand around in a city and picking up trash is something they are happy doing. Especially if they are being demonized by the people in that city.

They have to be smart enough to know this is just a ploy and it just isn't feasible in America as it is currently run.

It's part of being a peacetime reserve force. They signed up knowing the terms - most likely for extra money when they knew the risk of actual combat was low. I'm pretty sure they prefer protective duty and make-work details to a war in some third world country.

I pulled my share of crappy details during basic training. Two years of active duty was much more rewarding, but I never went to Vietnam like so many of my generation. I finished my military obligation with six years of reserve duty that were a waste. Reserve and guard units served no purpose at the time because there were so many draft dodgers. Replacement forces were filled with draftees.

We need to normalize asking Mike Johnson if he kisses Jesus with that mouth? Surely it’s a sin to lie like he does!!

And if not Jesus, then at least his fake-adopted black ‘son’ that he surely did not have relations with
