I think that Dr. Fauci, like almost anyone else in his profession, operated under the best information and knowledge that was available to him at the time. We referred to Covid-19 as a novel coronavirus, because knew next to nothing about it, its origins, as well as how it mutates and spreads right when Wuhan started making the news around the close of 2019. It was thus inevitable that he and others would get things wrong in the process, which is expected and understandable. Whether it was Fauci, Scott Gottlieb(personally I think he's been the most articulate and rational voice regarding Covid-19), or others, I hope and ask that we would refrain from calling them liars because of imperfect analysis due to a virus that we didn't know much about, and trying to learn as much as we could in a short space of time. Mistakes, faulty hypotheses, and trial and error, are integral to scientific research.

Personally, I think it is a miracle that medical researchers and scientists were able to develop a sound enough understanding of Covid-19 to where extremely effective vaccines could be developed within just a years time or so. This is a remarkable tribute to the medical and scientific community that we could have these vaccines in such a short space of time.
