David, you touched on something: I think the link between Republicans believing there will be violence by Democrats if Trump wins and the number of Republicans who believe violence is necessary is salient and explanatory. If Trump wins and there is peace in the streets, then I don't see MAGA inciting violence. I also don't see Trump's threats of using the military, or federal power, to go after leftwing orgs to have a lot of teeth. I would, however, watch Elon Musk closely. He worries me more than Trump.

It is not the chance he would incite violence that makes him unqualified. It is what ge says.

Rule #1: take fascists at their word. If they say they're going to round people up after taking power - believe them.

Election exhaustion is a real thing; more so now than ever? Yes in my mind, but every election has been the most important in my lifetime; except it never was. Life always went on. It will this time as well.

The difference this time around, should trump win, will be the chaos and crazy that will rule the day. We know the donald simply cannot exist without being the center of attention. His antics have grown more bizarre as he has aged; i expect that to only get worse.

The best thing about Biden's presidency was a return to normal. He simply acted like past presidents without the need to suck the air out of every room he entered. For all those who remember fondly trump's 4 years in office, they clearly forgot the chaos that came with it.

I'm just an average guy, albeit old. My life will go on fine either way. For those younger or with kids or with lives impacted by foolishness, i have complete empathy for your future. Sadly, a minority of the voters in this country may well dictate (yet again) who becomes president.

That simply makes no sense to me...NONE.

I hear "Liar, liar, liar".

Certainly not "Jesus is King".

Didn't sound like "Lord", and I don't know why you'd repeat that three times.

As stated below, I hear "Lies. Lies. Lies."

Possibly: or Peter Thiel, who is a rival to Musk. Or JD Vance could stab all three in the back and take control for himself.

It would be Trump. He's already being blamed for every hypothetical problem that haters can speculate about but will never happen - plus most of the Harris / Biden screwups.

New update on what was said at the Harris rally in Wisconsin. It has been confirmed, factually, that 2 male Christian college students shouted Jesus is Lord and Christ is King, and that is when Kamala told them they were at the wrong rally, they needed to go down the street to the smaller one.

Sorry, David, but I turned the volume way up on Kamala's Wisconsin rally, and I heard Lord, not liar. Lord does not sound like liar when it is shouted out. Liar has 2 syllables, Lord one. I distinctly heard Lord, and only 1 syllable, so either you are lying, or you are completely wrong. Time for you to walk that back.

I’m curious what source you’re listening to it on because “liar” comes through pretty plain. I used a clip from Forbes which is pretty objective and center right.

It wouldn’t surprise me if partisan sites have deceptively edited the clip. In fact, it would surprise me if they haven’t.

I invite the readers to be the judge. Skip to 58 seconds if you’re in a hurry.

I think it's "Lies" rather than "Liar". Timestamped link at 0:53 here: https://youtu.be/6zSRuif2qLM?t=53

“Lies” would be a possibility. Either fits the context of the exchange. “Jesus is Lord” does not.

You are wrong, David. Hannity had the 2 college students on the radio this afternoon, and I also watched a clip on YouTube of them talking about what they said at the rally. You might want to update your sources to include some that are more truthful.

Hannity. There you go. That’s not objective or trustworthy. He’s a partisan with an axe to grind.

You're right. Not even a question for me. Doesn't even REMOTELY sound like "Jesus is Lord."

Expand full comment
Cameron Sprow's avatar

Actually, David, I would like to revise my earlier post to say that someone in the crowd could have said the word liar as well as someone shouting "Jesus is Lord." I listened again and I heard a few people shouting, and though it seemed garbled, someone could indeed have shouted liar, but I definitely heard Lord as well. I didn't hear the complete Jesus is Lord, but I definitely did hear Lord, so what I am admitting to is that both things might have been shouted in that crowd, so a half apology is due to you. In any case, both things that were said are right.

The all-important question: do you think that Harris actually heard anything other than heckling?

Expand full comment
Cameron Sprow's avatar

Absolutely, and I'll tell you why. If she had heard only garbled heckling, and not actual words, I think she would have just continued. But she reacted to what was said, telling the heckler/hecklers to go down the street, they were at the wrong rally. Yes, she heard what was said.

Who would be heckling at a Harris rally but Trump supporters?

Cam, your discernment is in a terrible state. Have you considered logging off, and maybe seeking therapy?

Cameron Sprow's avatar

Lolol, the point I was trying to make, to David, not to you, was that he is always trying to run cover for Kamala in his columns. And when he does, I will call him out. Btw, the reason for my laugh is in this case who the hecklers are or who they support are immaterial to my original point. And one more thing, trying to belittle someone doesn't show your superior intellect, but rather your ignorance.

SGman's avatar

Your original point is you think Harris is insulting Christians, and - as usual - you're of absolute certainty on an issue where there is obviously lack of certainty. It's your M.O.
