Seeing the Taliban advance and take over Afghanistan is not a pleasing sight at all. I really wished that President Biden would've waited and prepared the Afghan government and troops with some strong enough contingency, at least before leaving. I also wished the Trump administration would not have made any good faith assumption about the Taliban in negotiating with them.....(sigh).

I can only imagine how our troops must've felt in 1975, when Saigon fell to the North Vietnamese. I do know that many Vietnamese who lived during that time, felt they were betrayed.

All I can say is, I'm going to be praying for the people of Afghanistan.

No one wants his son to go to war but I would be proud of a son who volunteered. Whichever opinion prevails on Afghanistan, it's a tossup. My feeling is the nation is too primitive and the citizens are too dogmatic to save themselves. Biden gave his best press responses today. His meds must have been working.
