Starting wars, stopping wars...meh. I see crazy when American citizens have been murdered on the streets of Minneapolis and no one is held accountable. NO ONE!
I vote for Trump using outrageous behavior and statements to get what he wants. He seems to be reluctant to take the actions he threatens but sometimes he must in order maintain his image.
Tell that to Good, Pretti and now the nearly blind Nurul Amin Shah Alam in Buffalo. But let's be honest Curtis it's pretty easy maintaining his "image" as a scum bag tough guy when all he ever does is punch down on those below his weight class.
Ms. Good and Mr. Pretti should never have tried to violently interfere with immigration law enforcement. Their deaths were unfortunate but what else can anarchists expect when they have no common sense or respect for the law?
Regarding Mr. Alam:
“Mr. Shah Alam was identified by the Erie County Medical Examiner earlier today and his family was subsequently notified,” City Hall spokesperson Ian Ott said in a statement.
The cause of death was determined by the examiner to be "health-related in nature," ruling out death by exposure and homicide, Ott said."
Well Bill, I clearly saw videos of Good accelerating her vehicle LEO toward LEOs in a threatening manner. I also clearly saw videos of Pretti uncontrollably and violently confronting LEOs and then returning later, armed and just as belligerent. All either had to do was to let ICE do their jobs and they could both be sitting at home complaining on left wing blogs about ICE.
I have no reason to disbelieve official statements about Mr. Alam's demise. Why is there no information or questioning about why his family was not more involved?
Your complaints seem to be based only upon extreme prejudice toward the Trump administration.
Curtis, here's the response from the mayor of Buffalo: "Buffalo Mayor Sean Ryan said the death of Nurul Amin Shah Alam was preventable and “deeply disturbing and a dereliction of duty by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.”
“A vulnerable man — nearly blind and unable to speak English — was left alone on a cold winter night with no known attempt to leave him in a safe, secure location,” Ryan said in a statement Wednesday, adding that CBP’s behavior in the incident was “unprofessional and inhumane.”
I post this Curtis because while you believe what DHS and Noem have said, i saw two wholly different incidents (Good and Pretti). We've exchanged our differences many times over the years and while we disagree, i respect your willingness to engage.
With that out of the way, the numbers of Ice incidents, lies and misstatements are piling up. It's not my job to decide (nor yours), that's why we have courts, judges and juries. We are entitled to our opinions which is all they are.
The refusal by the trump administration to allow justice to take its course is unwarranted and unprecedented. If the Ice agents acted appropriately, let the justice system decide that. Until then, it's just Noem et al spewing BS.
Which oddly returns us to Steve's header; "The Unhinged Dividend." Clearly that is exactly where we are, trump's manic/maniac behavior is allowing the chaos to unfold with no one being held accountable.
This is just a guess, but do you hate and have zero respect for Donald Trump and his admin? I'll continue reading Racket News, although for a different reason than I used to. I used to read Racket for its mostly unbiased reporting. I have an agreement with myself to challenge assumptions, so now Steve Berman's reporting can check that box. I hope all the new writers don't veer this far to the left, though.
Don't worry - there are plenty of ex-GOP folks here who have zero respect for Trump (and his administration) for the mockery he's made of conservatism (small gov't, fiscal responsibility, personal integrity, etc.) from the right.
That said, he has been a useful idiot in revealing the all the folks who were more interested in proximity to power than wielding power toward some principled end.

That's crazy Steve.
Main Street is 5th Avenue now, and all of his goons enjoy the same immunity.
Unhinged or strength? What say you?

Come on Curtis, after all these years you're better than that kind of response.
Or maybe not, clearly you believe the bullshit they are spewing.
Let’s be civil. After all these years, I expect that from everyone here. Especially you Bill.
Seriously asking Steve, which part of my response was over the line? Uncivil?

Here's the nonviolent Pretti "peacefully" protesting. Tell me someone that unhinged just let things be after that encounter.

Nope. No hate here. I respect the office. I question Trump’s motives because it’s clear he lies about many things.
If you think Steven Berman is around the bend on Trump, try David Thornton.
