The odd dichotomy of this administration from trump's first term is he has elected to surround himself with loyalists rather than qualified experts. If you think about it, typically those who have committed to excellence in their field, will stay true to themselves and what they have learned.
This cast of characters and clowns around him is frightening and sadly the rebuild from trump's second term will take years to fix. We do know this; to do that will take experts, not loyalists.
I remember looking down on the wings of Blue Angel planes flying over the beach (right where the water met the sand) from an 8th floor balcony at Gulf Shores. That was at least 15 years ago. Very impressive.

That’s an interesting point. I’m no expert here, but mandatory reporting into a database might well have spotted the trend earlier.
