Things do change. My parents were also democrats - my mom rabidly so. My dad most often voted that way, but he hated democrat policies regarding taxes and unions. I suppose they had a good excuse, being teenagers when the Great Depression hit. In the case of my 60-year-old son and my 30-year-old granddaughter, they grew up in the deep south and never attended a segregated school. I never attended an integrated school until my company sent me to management courses at Auburn, Alabama and Georgia in my 30s and 40s.
