I'm no DeSantis fan, but if he's the strongest challenger to a 2024 Trump primary coronation, I'll hit the streets collecting signatures to get him on the local ballot.
I dunno. DeSantis is more than a little Trump-y when it comes to performative unconstitutional actions...
What'll be interesting is to see what happens if/when Trump loses during the 2024 primaries and whether he'd admit defeat - or if he'll instead try to split the party...
I have ZERO illusions about who DeSantis is (or who he aspires to be). It's still a no-brainer to send him up against Trump if the opportunity presents itself.
Where's the whole list? The anti-woke law was partially blocked. It still applies to state agencies. The judge properly ruled that the state could not dictate employee training by private corporations. Of course, states (and the USA) can and do force social justice actions on private corporations. As best I can determine, the question of censorship of political candidates by large social media is still with the Supreme Court.
DeSantis is not violating the Constitution unless he disregards court orders. It's a matter of whose lawyers are deemed to be correct.
Seriously Curtis, you liked the political stunt of shipping immigrants who crossed the border in Texas half way across the country was okay? I guess if they had crossed into Florida and he wanted to make his case, some of you would have been delighted. But nope, i guess he couldn't find any in his home state.
I'm more concerned by his treatment of voters who were offered voter registration cards by his own state officials and then his newly formed police state went after them. All the while the two white guys in the Villages who each voted twice got a slap on the wrist. Justice in America under good old Ron eh?
His actions have had a chilling affect on voter turnout among black voters in Florida in this election. Is it really a good thing when voter suppression is your key to victory?
A lot of DeSantis criticism here. Exactly what has he done that creates the same type of hate as that shown toward Trump? How could he possibly worse than Biden or Harris or Newsom? This is ridiculous. If you can't bring yourself to vote for a Republican with a chance to win, just vote democrat. It would be nice of you to explain why but of course you are under no obligation to do so. I suspect you simply do not like a take-charge executive.
There are plenty of examples of DeSantis being unfriendly to the 1A. I liked him better pre-2020 before he started running for president and fighting with Greg Abbot to see who could go further right.
If your beliefs involve voting for people that want to allow legislatures to override elections, or raising the specter of fraud for ballot counting taking too long (after enacting laws to delay counting of ballots - https://twitter.com/steve_vladeck/status/1589809753873534976?s=20&t=Ep2ouvjqcaIF3SNxHcE9SA), then yeah - voting for your beliefs will destroy democracy.
I do like the political statement of showing solidarity with the state's of Arizona and Texas. The illegal invasion crisis must be made real to blue state voters. As to your other points, you are keeping Florida under a microscope if you can give one side of a story to events I never heard of. I would not be surprised to hear that Florida government is imperfect. It's still far better than anything democrats have to offer on a national level. DeSantis is the man.
It’s not wise for Trump to piss off the sitting governor of the state in which he resides. That’s all I have to say.

He hasn’t convinced me. I’m not a fan, but I’m more open to DS than Trump.
I really hope they both destroy each other.

What unconstitutional actions?
There's a whole list of things where he keeps getting slapped down by judges:

I don’t trust him at all.
Maybe but i'm not aware of him acting illegally. Nothing like claiming that voting my for my beliefs will destroy democracy.

Provide examples of him "taking charge" that are more than performative demagoguery, or purely aimed at raising the ire of Democrats/liberals.
It's amazing how many in America who, for all the talk tyrants, desire a strongman.
