We’ve all found our coffee

I start just about every day going to our local coffee shop with my wife and having an espresso. I am liable to say anything before my morning coffee. Today’s gem was that “we all found our coffee”. Our barista suggested that should be the title of my yet unwritten autobiography. That is not on my bucket list, but I like the feel of the phrase.
I like the naivety of believing that coffee among friends, acquaintances, and even strangers in a shop is above politics. I know that politics is everything and everywhere. Politics of Starbucks and Dunks and fair trade and let’s not go there. How about the concept that we can have a national get a coffee day and we can all heal what ails us over an espresso drink.
A wise young woman once told me that a cup of coffee is just a vehicle for delivering an espresso shot. There is no red state or blue state with drinking a delicious cup of coffee. If you are feeling very fundamental you can order a single shot Ristretto to fuel your morning. Probably a good starter for those wanting to focus and contemplate the details of state or federal budget matters. A hot Americano is a good start for a cold New England day. I prefer no more than 8 ounces of hot water in mine to keep it concentrated.
I used to sit inside before COVID19 and slow drink my coffee and be social. A Cappuccino with a shot of espresso, steamed milk and foam was nice for a short stay. A large cup of Pumpkin Spice Latte is my favorite delicacy for long current events talks on local events or sports.
New England summer is short. Iced Latte or Cold Brew is perfect for a warm day or to go ordering.
Anyways we all need to find our coffee, and I am looking forward to the day soon that I can go back to safely sitting in my local shop and sharing a cup of coffee and a social conversation in passing. Maybe it is a naive notion to believe coffee time can start to heal the wounds of 2020.

I've been using Trade's subscription for a little while, but my fave is still the beans from a family roaster that imports their beans from their own farm in Peru.

I'm happy with two large mugs of Columbian from my Bunn every morning. I have enjoyed some very strong coffee served by my favorite restaurant owners at a Greek food stand at a festival in Augusta GA.
