"But the duo's partnership came to a screeching halt last week after the Club for Growth refused to end its negative ad campaign against Ohio Senate candidate J.D. Vance at the former President's behest and doubled down with new ads against the Trump-backed 'Hillbilly Elegy' author. The group has backed former state treasurer Josh Mandel in the heated Republican primary for the seat being vacated by Sen. Rob Portman."
"Unnerved by McIntosh's defiance, Trump reportedly asked an intermediary to deliver a curt text message to him."
"'Go f--- yourself,' it read."
"The two men haven't spoken since, according to a person close to Trump. On Wednesday, the Club launched a new ad once again targeting Vance for his past criticism of Trump and highlighting Trump's past endorsement of Mitt Romney's 2018 Senate campaign in Utah."[1]

Indeed.
Granted it’s a long shot, but I would find a meltdown from both Mandel and Vance losing would be providing loads of free entertainment. Who knows? Strange things have happened before.

I think because GA is a competitive state, the whoever wins the Senate and governor’s races will do so in the single digit margins. I’m glad Kemp is poised to defeat Perdue. The latter seems pretty weak of a candidate. He couldn’t clear the runoff threshold with Ossoff, who isn’t a particularly strong candidate himself, and Perdue even refused to debate him.
And I agree with you on Walker. I just can’t picture him holding his own in a general election campaign. His hurdle are the suburban voters in Cobb and Gwinnett counties. Since some of the right leaning voters there split their tickets and voted Biden and GOP for the congressional down ticket, I could see a scenario where they vote for Kemp but sit out the Senate race or vote Warnock. Tommy Tuberville could get away with a lot given that Alabama is ruby red state. But Walker has even more issues of character, and in purple Georgia, I can’t see him pulling it off. The only way it may happen is if the national mood turns dramatically further worse than it is now for the Democrats.
I’m hoping that Brad Raffensperger can hold off Jody Hice. I don’t know where the polls are on that race. Erick Erickson is pretty bullish on Raffensperger, but the latter would have to get the votes of most Kemp voters to do it.
The other Georgia race of interest is the primary challenge to Marjorie Taylor Greene. Recently, Senator Bill Cassidy did a fundraiser for her opponent. We can all agree that she needs to be defeated. But I’m not sure of what the odds are of that happening. Fingers crossed.
I agree with you it will take time to move on from Trumpism. We just have to keep being steadfast with good people participating in primaries of both parties to choose the best possible candidates.
The GOP civil war in Ohio has been entertaining:
