Good discussion, Steve. However, I am concerned about "whatever it takes" rhetoric gaining traction with people who are less measured than you. There is hate and blind fury in play.
My record here of wanting to see Trump disappear down the blackest black hole and never to be heard from again should be self-evident, but I'm against any legal "breakage" to make that happen. We have enough loopholes and gaps in our "unbroken" legal system that we don't need to keep adding more to deny Trump office once more.
Enforce the rules to the greatest extent possible, but it's pointless to toss them out to "save" this country. I still have enough faith in the American people that should the side that still values classical liberalism sticks to its guns, the nation will reject Trump again. And if we don't have enough Americans to pull the lever for actual "law and order", then the next step is to start working to empower our local states (at the expense of the federal gov't) so that illiberalism from Washington doesn't matter as much. If Texas wants to be run by folks like Ken Paxton, more power to them.
In other words, the 10th Amendment. Powers not granted specifically to the federal government by the Constitution are reserved for the states. We all have to put up with undesirable Presidential policies at some point. In my case, it's the last three years.
I'm extremely disappointed that we (as a people) fail to learn that distributing power is an effective mechanism for retaining some control over our lives instead of repeatedly playing the "winner takes all" zero-sum game of trying to win power over everyone repeatedly.
A biased, one-sided article by a biased, one-sided writer. If you can't convict Trump, it's because you have no legitimate case against him, plain and simple. You admit and call for the Lefties to "break the law a little bit" to convict Trump. Sorry, but that makes you a criminal and a fraud. Lincoln broke the law? Under war powers, a President is allowed to do that, when he deems the Republic to be under threat of a seditious coup. That was the case in 1860, and it is the case again today. So Trump won't be breaking the law when he also invokes war powers, he will be fulfilling the law by trying all seditious Leftists and fake Rightists for high crimes against the State. You have no case, and you know it Berman, so stop trying to gaslight this readership into your Land of Make-Believe. The countdown to Trumps return has already begun, and then simple, Constitutional justice is coming for all of you. In the end you will squeal, like a good little piggy, "I didn't know!", to save your treasonous behind from being branded with a big, red "T". But the public, and the opinions of a candid world, won't be fooled. Low-level America-hating, Marxist operatives like yourself won't face much punishment, except having to watch your leaders receive life sentences and even some executions. Yes, the conspiracy goes up to God, because God is on Trump's side, which is America's side and the Peoples side. God made America, and God will reveal all the lies and corruption which you attempted to hide. Keep doubling down, weasel Berman, you won't escape. Your only hope is to come clean and tell the truth of what you know for less jail time, who paid whom to lie, cheat and steal the election. It was a nice attempt you Lefties made to steal power, but the People just aren't as dumb as you thought. You lied and you stole, and we have the proof!
Wow!!!!!!!!! Have you read or followed Steve at all? Or, did you just appear out of the smog and fog of lunacy trapped under the spell of a con artist turned president? Actually i would guess it's none of the above.
You are simply the precursor, the trial run for those who will be gracing pages/sites like these over the next 12 months. AI, bot or real? Who knows and in fact it matters not. Liz Chaney's remarks are so on point...with one caveat...whatever is contained in the reality of playing within the rules of legal engagement.
On the other side of the equation is trump et al who have no compulsion or compunction to even acknowledge the existence any rules or norms even exist. It makes for any interesting fight and the only fact that will save us is more people hate trump than love him. BTW; that's why he lost in 2020 to a politician well past his prime.
One question which i know you will ignore km: Seeing as god (small g intentionally used) is on trump's side...when exactly will all this truth and proof of lies be released? Seems to me these declarations of having the evidence should be shown us all before the election to help insure the orange guy wins.
Chris...MPGA...good one brother. The little bit i've played around with AI, seems to me they do include paragraph breaks. Not sure on bots?
"small donors who are funding his legal defense".....it boggles the mind to think that people are stupid enough to pay legal fees for someone with an admitted $10 BILLION worth!
That probably makes as much sense as people believing they have any real options at the election polls. The left wing and right wing are both taking the bird where the bird wants to go. That of course makes me a "conspiracy theorist" according to the "powers that be" through their corporate government stooges.

Think I will pass on Trump, but thank you.

Russians are also known for their lengthy passages.
