Susan: I am listening to the book “Railroaded: The Transcontinentals and the Making of Modern America” by Richard White. It’s about the “gilded age” and the people who ran the railroads. Remarkably similar to today’s AI. Greed, incompetence, corruption. We are reliving the 1880s.
I am far less concerned with AI becoming self aware, or sentient, with its own will, than the current crop of idiot savant LLMs killing us all by mistake because incompetent, lazy, corrupt, self-indulgent men allow them full agency to use weapons.

Indeed, with one marked difference: The railroads cant rise up and kill us all.
