"I have to ask the question, and I’m sure some of you readers will not take it well: what harm can come from lifting the vaccination requirement for Canadian truckers? Is it really more harmful to peace and enjoyment of Canadian society to have about 15,000 unvaccinated drivers hauling loads, or to create indelible scenes of heartbreak when these truckers have their kids taken away before the police sweep them from the street?"

As someone who doesn't frequent truck stops or gas stations where truckers fuel up, I don't really have a dog in this fight. However, if you give into the truckers on their vaccine tantrum, who are the governments going to give in to next? Standing firm on truckers might be the Canadian gov't's way of not heading down the slippery slope.

As for the US gov't, I don't have a strong opinion on them not allowing unvaxxed truckers into the USA. The restriction doesn't seem unreasonable to me, but I also won't worry if they relax it.

What you say makes sense. My opinion is the same as it was two years ago with more facts in my favor. There is no reason to destroy the economy for a disease that everyone has or will get - especially now that the severity has waned. Hospitals are stressed only in a few locations at any given time. Planning to share regional medical resources makes more sense than blanket mandates.

Sorry to post this here: when comes the write-up about the reported improper handling of documents from the Trump Admin, including reported flushing of docs and taking top-secret docs to Mar-a-Lago?

Dig up a little more dirt and it might reach the Sandy Berger or Hillary Clinton level.

Lovely to see your position isn't based on principle.

Lovely to see you can form opinions based on biased news reports - not to say bias excludes truth but facts are scarce. And the President can legally do anything he wants with Top Secret documents. I have seen Top Secret documents come through my Top-Secret communications center and a few hours later seen the president on TV discussing the details of those same documents.
