Dr. Norman Vincent Peale would be spinning circles in his coffin Steve. There's a big difference in the power of positive thinking and telling yourself lies and then embracing them. Such a sad commentary on such a pathetic human being.

Norman Vincent Peale was Trump’s pastor.

I know, he even officiated at two of trump's weddings...what does that tell you. I suspect even Norman would be stunned by what he helped create. But then maybe not as an article from Politico had this to say about Peale: "Known as “God’s salesman,” Peale merged worldliness and godliness to produce an easy-to-follow theology that preached self-confidence as a life philosophy. Critics called him a con man, described his church as a cult, and said his simple-minded approach shut off genuine thinking or insight."

If the article is accurate, then perhaps they both fit the mold...con men indeed.

I understand your Trump hate runs deep and you want to punish the Republicans for electing and defending him. That's a popular stance in the Dispatch, the Lincoln Project, the Racket and similar groups.

I'm disappointed that you do not see fit to use your talent for accusatory and derogatory language to condemn actions by the military and other agencies to root out and punish citizens who have different political beliefs than the ruling party.

Are they being punished for having different beliefs than the ruling party, or are they being punished for breaking into federal property and terrorizing legislators who were carrying out their Constitutional duties?

I have plenty of family who are still on the Trump Train and were not part of the January 6 insurrection and have yet to hear from a Man in Black seeking to haul them off for Wrongthink.

I probably was not clear enough on which part of Steve's post I was referring to. It was the effort underway to purge Trump supporters from the military and other branches of government. President Obama tried to convert the military from war fighters to social justice warriors and Biden is doing the same.

As for rioters, arsonists and looters, they should all be in prison.

It's not Trump supporters in whole: it's those that are members of extremist groups and holding extremist views (like white supremacy and support form overthrowing the US Government).

You can believe that only if you trust democrats. I don't.

Good thing it's the military and not Congress, eh?

Not sure what you mean but I just want the military to be the best it can be. If that means not accepting misfits, gender confused, physically incapable and other individuals who detract from the mission, so be it.

This thread below...let's all be kind and considerate. I've been very tolerant. I will defend anyone's honest effort to disagree, even with me. But when it turns into name calling and ad-hominem attacks, it will stop or I'll stop it. I'm not addressing Curtis directly though I'm posting this in his reply...everyone below, chill.

Enough With the childish, liberal hate projection routine, Curtis. Everyone knows that hate projection is a liberal tactic that the "fight fire with fire" Trump Cult has adapted for their own use. It's a tactic that the left invented to massage their egos by projecting "hate" onto their political enemies while putting fake " angel halos" over their own heads and fake "demon horns" over the heads of their political opponents. The left used the hate projection strategy for decades and now you Trumpers think you're being cute co-opting that tactic for your own use. All your doing, though, is showing your sad, pathetic childishness, your massive inability to debate us Never-Trump Conservatives (The. Conservatives. In. The. Room.), not to mention your "streak of liberalism " soft underbelly. Again, enough with the liberal hate projection tactic, Curtis. Your just boring us Never-Trump Conservatives and proving to us that you Trumpers are more, politically, akin to the liberals that you claim to be the "enemies" of. You can give yourself that ego massage by gaslighting yourself into believing that Steve, and all other Never-Trump Conservatives, are guilty of "hate". but you're only convincing yourself and no one else. Enjoy your self- flattering ego massage, Curtis. Here's the official response of us Never-Trump Conservatives: "Yawnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!".

No Curtis, it's a popular stance for the majority of people living in the USA. Normal people were horrified by the events of January 6, only the trump sycophants thought it was just business as usual. Oddly enough, for trump that's all it was...more of the same.

The media, the democrats and the never-Trumps started their hate campaign the day he was nominated, long before 01/06/2021, and haven't stopped. Meanwhile, Biden is pursuing destructive executive actions and legislation and Trump haters can't find time to criticize. That is point of my comment.

More of your sad, pathetic hate projection routine, Curtis. Your convincing nobody but yourself. If you're searching for "hate", Curtis, search your own soul, first. By using the old liberal tactic of hate projection, your simply showing your liberal, self-victimization underbelly.

I've reached into my inner self and decided to give your psychological analysis the consideration it deserves. Thanks.

Yeah, I read that and offered a comment about protecting classified materials. Steve said only that Biden is not perfect. There was none of the outrage over every detail and no tone of condemnation that he heaps on Trump every chance he gets. Mr. Trump is past tense - at least until the mid-term primaries.

It's been less than a month, and if he's not outraged then it's likely he has liitle reason yet to be outraged. Give it time.
