Slavery was a vile practice. I don't think historical monuments should be destroyed but should be recognized for what they are - a part of our past. We don't destroy presidential libraries just because some presidents have been despicable men. I suspect the slow process of erosion will remove the images from Stone Mountain about quickly as human evolution produces people of uniform skin color and prejudice will have to be based on something besides race.
