Thanks Steve, awesome article. Last night here in AZ after watching Green Bay dismantle the Cowboys and the Lion game being a nail biter at the half, we walked our two standard poodles. It was a cold 53 degrees with a slight wind, and my neighbor's trump flag was standing up proud.

Most often i ignore it, last night was different. It caused me to wonder, what makes any white folks think they are better/more entitled than Black, Brown or Asians? The answer we hear, and have been told was it's because the white European's arriving on our shores were the first.

All of which gave me a chuckle, ya but the Native American Indian's were even "more first," and look how they've been treated. Than goodness it all passed quickly, there's little upside in the resentment and anger so popular these days. Victim-hood is the new normal.

So between your article and a post i saw on Facebook this morning, i was encouraged that perhaps better than half the country has been enlightened. We can only hope that is the case come this November. We'll see.

Here's the often repeated clip from MLK's I have a dream speech: "Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred. We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plain of dignity and discipline."

Happy BD MLK...if only eh?

I believe Lee-Jackson Day is still a state holiday in Virginia with state offices closed. Ohio has yet to proclaim Grant-Sherman Day but could as a reminder to some in the South it is called The Civil War and not The War of Northern Aggression.

Lee-Jackson Day was eliminated by the VA legislature in 2020. However I don’t doubt certain cities still recognize it.
