The imperative of the moment is voting for our democratic principles: all else flows from there, thus it is the most conservative thing one can do right now.

Ron DeSantis has attempted to discourage making employment conditional on "woke" indoctrination and COVID vaccinations. That did not succeed in the case of private employers because employers' rules trump employee desires. Many voters in Florida appreciated his efforts and many voters elsewhere agreed in principle.

Most of the complaints about DeSantis being authoritarian are BS as evidenced by the "don't say gay" hoax. His successful efforts prevented the state from engaging in political indoctrination thereby inciting the liberal left and their allies in the media to condemn the man. Hell, they even cited the fact that he declared a 30-day Covid shutdown of many public facilities despite their praise of governors and mayors who did harsher shutdowns for longer periods of time. There is a very loud minority that resent Florida policies against drag shows for third graders, sexual indoctrination of youngsters and encouraging transition of confused minors. Most normal people agree with Governor DeSantis, but the liberal press is working overtime attempting to smear the man.
