No “boots on the ground” were necessary to defeat Japan. While USA ground forces did take two Japanese Islands, Iwo Jima and Okinawa, there were no Americans sent to Japan until after “unconditional surrender”. The allies allowed Japan to keep their Emperor but required a new Constitution and government, which was a successful “regime change”.

Many boots on the ground were necessary to subdue Japan and end WW2. Not even mention of nuclear bombs.. Iran is not Japan.

He who controls Kargh Island controls Iran’s economy. He who controls Iran’s economy dictates what moves into and out of the Persian Gulf. If the US were to control by occupying Kargh Island, Iran could not dislodge the occupiers without destroying their economy and themselves. Checkmate Mr Thornton , Checkmate.

What would stop Iran from just burning down the rest of the Gulf oil infrastructure to take the global economy with them if the regime is going to fall?

What weapons would Iran use to do this- the ones we have already destroyed or those still on the drawing board?

They’re still shooting missiles and drones. They haven’t all been destroyed. That’s why the Strait of Hormuz is not open.

All Iran needs to stop shipping is one guy on a boat with some explosives, whether in rocket or limpet mine form.

All it takes for Iran to stop the lone wolf trying to stop shipping is a bullet to the head. When you have them by the balls, their hearts and minds will surely follow. Think of Kargh Island as Iran’s balls.

This just comes off as delusional, bud.
