I have little doubt that the democrat socialists will eliminate the filibuster rule, especially if they retain control of the House and Senate in 2022. They will then be able to get the one thing that can't be undone by a subsequent controlling Republican government - at least two more welfare states that will reliably vote democrat.

There are ways of enticing or threatening them. Manchin already is wavering on statehood for DC and PR. They would not be the first two politicians to flip flop.

I really think this will depend on just how much republicans stone wall. Like if they are stupid enough to block the covid relief bill then I think its gone. But I don't think they will do it right out of the gate.
