The courage of her convictions...what the hell happened to that phrase David? When did we lose sight of how important that was in our lives, in politics and in our beliefs? What changed us that we are so devoid of the values we used to hold so near and dear?

As i was reading too many columns on Liz Chaney this morning, i was astounded how strongly i felt about the position she was taking; the stand she was making. Our politics couldn't be further apart yet i have enormous respect for the brass balls she has grown.

The rest of the GOP, the ones that walked out on her speech need be reminded of one thing and one thing only: Growing up, we didn't say a pledge of our allegiance to the democratic party or the republican party. Nope, it was to the United States of America.

It's that simple.

Seriously, the GOP is doing everything to get me, a conservative, to not vote Republican in 2022, and possibly even 2024. Liz Cheney has earned my abiding respect for standing for the truth, even at great political cost. I will contribute to her re-election campaign, and support her campaign. I will also support Jaime Herrera-Buetler, Peter Meijer, Senator Ben Sasse, Mitt Romney, and all those are refusing to kowtow to this Trumpist cult of personality. I loved it when Cheney said that she'll do everything to keep Donald Trump away from the Oval Office. More power to her, and I support that 100 percent.

About 2-3 years ago, my belief was to hang on to the GOP and reform and revitalize it. But I'm not so sure now. We need a strong and competent conservative movement and a political party that can effectively represent conservatism. But I'm thinking that with the exception of a few elected officials, the GOP is maybe too far gone at this point. I want a strong, rational, and patriotic, conservative political party. I don't want any part of a Cult 45esque political party.

David, I will join you in the lifeboat.

Considering how the map is going to be really hard to beat for democrats and the countless Rs who now seem to get that they have to lie to appease the idiots I really don't think we will survive past next election. If the dem wins with a republican house then its bye bye America.
